Finals weekend brought us two fantastic days of competition with the outcome of the matches shown in the photo attached. Winning names are shown in red.
A special thanks to all the members who made this a successful weekend:
- Sue and Gill for the overall organisation despite the challenges of injuries and the weather and the numerous changes this necessitated. All managed with calm efficiency
- The umpires Sue and Dave E for their support in clarifying the rules and regulations and general support – particularly to new bowlers
- To the markers who gave their time and expertise sometimes under umbrellas
- To Martin, Patrick E and Peter who did sterling work in the kitchen providing delicious bacon rolls throughout the day. Not to forget their hard work, with the help of numerous volunteers, to ensure the kitchen was left pristine
- To Geraldine and Ivor for organising the delicious array of snacks and also the many talented bakers who provided such a fabulous batch of cakes and biscuits
- To all the people who served behind the bar – such an important part of the day
- To Gill for snapping away throughout the two days to capture many special moments
- To all the bowlers who competed with such passion and skill in entertaining, and at times nail biting, matches. A particular shout out to the newer bowlers who impressed us all!
