For the first time in the club’s history, we have two teams in the same discipline qualified to represent Middlesex at the national championships in Leamington in August.
Last Sunday at Bush Hill Park in the women’s triples:
– Lisa, Betty and Yasmin beat Ashford in the quarters, and Grovelands in the semis; and
– Jo, Brenda and Fran beat Harefield Hospital in the quarters and Winchmore Hill in the semis.
Both teams now go forward to the Middlesex finals at Bounds Green on the weekend of 25/26 July, the programme for which is awaited. The result of this game is not relevant in relation to Leamington, as both teams have qualified.
This comes on top of women’s fours (Angela, Lisa, Yasmin and Kembra) having already qualified in the fours for Leamington.
And this might not be the end of good news, as Ted and Betty are still in county and regional mixed comps. We wish them all the best in their remaining games.
