NLBC organised and paid for a first-aid course with a special focus on how to use our defibrillator.
Seven club members attended this excellent, highly practical event held by Danny Davies from firstaidmedicalservices.co.uk and learnt how to establish whether a person was responsive, was breathing, or needed CPR. Danny told us that the outcome of a cardiac event was massively better if a defibrillator was close by.
Essentially, the defibrillator, once switched on and connected to the patient, tells you exactly what to do.
We will organise another session like this next year – either for a brush up for this year’s attendants or for training further members of the club in this invaluable skill.
